Practice Innovation Lead
Salary: £55,000 – £68,000
Location: Hybrid, South West
Type: Permanent, full-time
Hire Purpose is partnering with a values-driven regional law firm to appoint its first Practice Innovation Lead.
The purpose of the role
To help lawyers become more efficient, productive and involved in more commercial activity and client work by making better use of the firm’s knowledge, processes, technology, and AI to deliver better outcomes for its people and clients.
The role
Sitting centrally within the firm, the Practice Innovation Lead will have the remit and responsibility to build the frameworks, governance and operating model that will shape the future of legal operations. You’ll design how knowledge, innovation and process improvement work across the firm, then lead the changes that bring it to life.
You’ll work alongside senior lawyers, practice leaders and support teams, and your focus will include:
Operational excellence: improving processes and workflows and reducing the administration for the team
Legal technology and AI: finding practical use cases, leading rollouts, driving adoption, and measuring the ROI
Knowledge management: developing precedents, templates and practice guidance that are easily accessible across teams and offices
Data and insight: turning data into information that helps lawyers plan, price and deliver work
Change and transformation: championing continuous improvement and bringing people with you
About you
Experience in a legal services environment and within a knowledge management role
A track record of implementing legal tech, AI or knowledge projects
Experience leading operational improvement or change projects
Confident with engaging and securing buy-in from senior stakeholders
Analytical, and comfortable using data to make the case for change
An understanding of what drives profitability and efficiency in a law firm
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a regional firm recognised for its culture and its commitment to going the extra mile for its people, clients, and communities.
The role can be fulfilled in a hybrid capacity and delivered from one of a number of offices across the South West of England.
You might be an experienced Knowledge Manager with a technical background ready for a broader role, or a lawyer who has moved into knowledge or innovation work. Either way, if you’ve used technology and AI to transform how a law firm works, we’d love to hear from you!
